 Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jaene Mortenson, was an American actress, singer,model, who became a major sex symbol, starring in a number of commercially successful motion pictures during the 1950s and early 1960s.

She is still one of the greatest inspirations in pop culture. Her sexy style and legends about her life and death are still in people's minds. You can see it in well known Andy Warhol's paintings and in fashion collections- below photo from Dolce & Gabbana's Fall-Winter 2009-2010 collection.

What about Marilyn's style?

First thing- shape. This woman was curvy- she had breasts and bootie. We can learn a thing or two from the way Marilyn embraced her shape. We should all be so kind to ourselves, wearing clothes that fit and flatter rather than hiding our bodies under layers of shapeless knits.
